About
Benjamin Doherty is a composer for film, TV and theatre. His notable work includes the score for the feature film, I’ve Seen All I Need To See, an intimate neo-noir drama that deals with grief. This premiered and won Grand Jury Best Feature at Flickers Rhode Island Film Festival and is set to have a UK premiere at Glasgow Film Fest.
He has composed scores for films that have been supported by institutes such as the BFI, Sundance Institute and Sky Arts. His work has been selected at BAFTA and Academy Award qualifying festivals including: BFI Flare, Aesthetica, Cleveland Film Festival, deadCenter, Norwich Film festival, Austin Film Festival and Foyle Film Festival. His work has also featured as part of the Sundance Indigenous Shorts Tour on the short “The Original Shareholder Experience”.
Other recent work includes the scripted feature film, Holy Joe, and the feature documentaries - Steel: The Blood Of Us and Forever 399.
Benjamin worked with Hasbro, composing the score for the official Dungeons & Dragons stage production “The Twenty Sided Tavern”. The production has gone on to perform sell out shows on a US national tour, the Sydney Opera House, Off-Broadway New York, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Chicago Off-Broadway.
As a composer, Benjamin always aspires to compose scores with a unique sound to each project. Inspired by minimalism, Benjamin likes to compose sparse and intimate scores that say more using less.
